Bali Snippets

This month instead of Life Snippets I am sharing with you few memories from Bali along with  my recommendations of what to do in Bali. This is gonna be the last post about my Bali Adventures, I hope you enjoyed the series. You can have a look at other posts here, here, here and here.

Lets start the ride...woohooo !!

My Airport Style and chocolate pastry from costa coffee.

It was a really long flight and since we had a 6 hours drive to airport from where we live, it took us entire 12 hours to reach Bali. Make sure you completely charge your tablets and phone to stay away from boredom.

We stayed at Hard Rock Hotel
Our first destination was Hard rock Hotel, Denpasar; where we stayed for 3 days. Best part about this place is its location. As soon as you step out from this place, you see people partying and having time of their lives. Located in centre of Kuta Lane, you can enjoy open cafes, beach and clubs at walking distance.

Since we were not into exploring the history of Bali, we were more in party mood so we spent three days at Kuta lane chilling at beach every morning and partying every night.

One such open cafe :p

Sunset *it was lovely*
Everyone said there is no shopping in Bali but see what I found.

Had to share this funny board.

Weather on one of the days. #nofilter

Chilling roadside. You can see benches like these along the road, cool right !

My Shopping from bali and  Stroberi was a very cute shop with cute little accessories you just cannot resist.

My cute bow slip-ons, finding vegeterian food was hard in Bali so we relied on haldiram's packed food,
Bali currency see 50k note; 1 indian rupee is approx 190 bali rupiah and breakfast at hard rock.

p.s. We paid bills in lakhs and thousands at a restaurant which was quite funny, since Indian currency was higher then that of Bali.

For some vegetarian food I would recommend Queens of India, number mentioned in the image.
The food quality was really amazing.

For others, you can always do a complete research and explore the history of Bali. Also, there is live volcano at Bali about which we got to know after we got back from the trip. So you can definitely check it out.

Few suggestions:

1. Always take taxi with meter, otherwise they charge much more then the actual tariff.
2. Do not waste much of your time shopping there, Bali is more of a partying and chilling out kind of place. Just have fun !
3.There is Wi-Fi facility at every other cafe for free so just install viber in phones and you will be able to contact your loved ones for free. There is no need to buy a sim-card.
4. For all the shopping you do, keep the receipts. At airport you have VAT Refund counter where you can show the bills and get the VAT money returned.
 5. In case you want to explore the cultural history of Bali, hire a guide.

For next three days we shifted to Nasa Dua in Hotel Sofitel, which is a very peaceful and relaxing place. Perfect for honeymoon couples. Also, I loveeeddd my resort here. Have a look at the pictures.

Note: I did not edit any of the pictures below. The water was 'this blue' and sky was actually 'this beautiful'. Enjoy !!

6 Lessons Marriage Taught Me

Just 2 and half years of experience but I can feel the change in myself. Marriage has its own ups and downs, and with every good or bad thing comes its own set of lessons. So lets get down to some lessons that I have learnt till now:

1. To have Patience: My patience power has increased incredibly. you can read all about it here. Now again, I really don't know if it has to do with me turning 25 or marriage but this is the major change I have seen in myself.

2. To take care of everyone around, starting with MYSELF: Before getting married, taking care of myself was the last thing on my list since I knew I have my mom beside me to do that. But now, when my health (mental/physical) suffer and I am not able to run to mom every single time, I get a reminder nobody is gonna come and I have to take care of myself no matter how concerned everyone else around is.If I am not doing well, I won't have the energy to take care of others which is my responsibility now.I hope you got the point.

3. Change is Constant: There was a time I thought attending social gatherings and spending hours in kitchen are the two most useless, waste of time and worst thing one could ever do.Since the household chores are not paid, they are not given any importance by others which created such notion in my mind but now I think  it is completely unfair. Now I realize how important every single household work is and how things can mess up if tasks are unfinished. Though "socializing" is still a hard deal for me but I am improving in that department too.

4. Be more Responsible: Everything comes with a responsibility and marriage comes with hell lot of responsibilities. So learn to tackle them and get ready to be answerable to others because its your duty.

5. To listen everyone and do what I like: Unsolicited advice is something I really dislike. But in India, where everyone has a habit of interfering in your life and wants to run your life their way, mastering this art of rejecting what you dislike is only key to happiness.Once you have achieved it you can rule the world. And I think I have 50 percent achieved it.

6. Learning  is a part and parcel of life: After finishing off with studies, I thought only thing I am left with now is just mere cooking and household chores which anyone can handle easily. But now I know I had 'so much' to learn. There are so many things I have learnt after marriage from how to handle certain situations to how to do be a multi-tasker and there are so many things I am still learning which makes me realize learning is a never ending process and I have a long-long way to go.

So these are my words of wisdom, anything you would like to share? Drop in the comments below. Would love to read your experiences.

Coming to pictures, this is an old outfit post which has stayed in drafts for months and is finally making an appearance on the blog.  This is what I wore on one of the date nights with my husband.

Outfit Post: Pink Shorts from Bali

I do not wear shorts on a regular basis due to the fact that I live in a place where I get starred for what I wear. Though now I do wear other outfits confidently no matter who stares, I am still working on shorts. And above all I love wearing shorts. So whenever I get a chance to wear them I just grab the opportunity. Bali is a place where I could wear anything and nobody really cared. So on my last day in Bali I fulfilled my wish and this is what I wore, Have a look !!

My Reaction to all the Jerks

I wondered if the jerks/anonymous people who are there to bother without any reason are worthy enough to be dedicated a complete post. But then this is my blog, a place where I can share/express my opinions and my thoughts; so why I should I even think twice before posting anything. This post is my answer to all the people who do not have the courage to come face to face and use the content or pictures without giving the due credit or are misusing them in any way.

I became a victim to such an act recently which completely terrified me. I was super upset for complete day and thought who would have done it (the Identity was not revealed). I even thought of quitting the blog and taking it down because you never know who is reading it or would misuse the content I am posting on it.

But then I gave it a second thought and speculated why should I give up on my passion for someone who is a total jerk. Why should I give him the power to spoil my mood. Its my life, my blog and my way of living, why I should I change that for someone who does not matter for me at all. People will pull me down, do/say things that would hurt but I think its high time now that I should overlook them and do what I love.

Do what you love

So I finally concluded I would continue with my love for blogging, no matter what anyone does. In-fact my passion for blogging has increased more with this incident. So stay tuned for more and more posts.

25th Birthday Celebration

Yes! I am 25 now.
I have always tried to stay a little childish so that I can enjoy the moments completely and stay true to myself and others just like babies. My maturity level generally depends on the situations and the person I am dealing with. But recently I can see myself changing a lot, maybe that is part of growing up or maybe that has something to do with "25" [yeah! When I read somewhere I am 25 years old, I get this responsible and grown up kind of a feeling, its kinda milestone set in my mind.] or maybe the things that life/marriage has taught me with time. Whatever the reasons are ultimately what matters is "I am learning".

Lets see the changes I feel I am going through:

I can listen to people more patiently, though I still have a threshold.
I observe more.
I try and put my heart in things that I don't love to do neither do they harm me but makes my closer ones happy.Being a part of Indian Society, where everything you has an impact on your family members, this is something I am really still learning.
I am more responsible now at least I feel so.
I make more lists now.
I am much more organized person which explains the point above.
I have found my own way of being happy without any company.
I can judge what is better for me and take decisions accordingly.
I have learnt to say NO.

Unlike the times when I wanted everyone in this world to wish and celebrate/party hard on my birthday, this time I switched off my Facebook birthday notification so that I receive only genuine wishes and celebrated my birthday with my close ones, relaxing and unwinding myself.

This time my hubby took me to Chandigarh which was a surprise I got in morning, you should have seen me I was jumping with joy.Oh, by the way I was getting a surprise daily from week, so it was a Special Birthday Week for me.

In Chandigarh, I shopped my heart out and had lot of fun. We went for a couple dinner alone after ages and what a crazy crowd it was at Peddlers,  In all it was an amazing and a very special birthday "WEEK" for me.
